Dear Community,
Recent incidents have lead us to the conclusion that our current penalties for account sharing and trades cannot remain as they are any more. For a long time, other communities have had different rules already, and many of you have complained with reason about this. Also, our goal should be to keep you playing. It should be your responsibility what happens if you decide to do sharing. However, if something goes wrong while doing so, you cannot expect us to provide any support for that.
Since we also will not be able to tell 100% whether someone wanted to trade an account for real money or ingame currency, therefore the best way to deal with this is to handle it the same way as account sharing.
Therefore, we have adjusted the rules for BOTH account sharing and account trading so that we do not punish it any more, but we will not provide any support for it in case problems occur while doing this. Also, if you try to sell your account ingame via public chat, you can still be punished for spamming.
After announcing this change, any player is allowed to ask for a revoking of any ban which was given for account sharing or account trading within our technical possibilities, meaning anything back until September 2010 (including that month).
I hope you understand this the way it is meant: A step towards you, also being towards a more just penalty system in general, at which we are currently working on and aiming for in the not-so-distant future. ![]()
